Gingerbread House Decorating Contest

Presented by Rotary Club of Brandon South Global

Demonstrate your culinary skills by baking a Gingerbread House and you could be a winner of a CASH Award, a Ribbon and bragging rights for a year! The Gingerbread Houses will be auctioned off to support service projects including Leadership Training for our youth at a camp in Lakeland and to support Rotary International’s fight against ending Polio in the world.

 

The Gingerbread House should not take more than Eighteen (18) inches of table space, and you will need 3 cookies of the same ingredients of the house for our Guest Judges to taste. Your entry will be assigned a number for judging purposes. This year the entrants or a representative will be required to attend and receive their Award &/or Ribbon.


A registration form is attached for the submission of your entry to the contest. This must be submitted by November 22 to be considered for the award.

Please join us December 7, 2019 at the Riverview Civic Center for the fun and entertainment and the view of all the wonderfully decorated boats as they sail down the beautiful Alafia River.

Contest Rules:

 

  1. Contest is open to all primary and secondary students in Hillsborough County

  2. Registration form must be submitted by November 22, 2019

  3. Gingerbread House must be made up of 100% edible ingredients (removable lights, or battery operated turntable may be used)

  4. The house cannot take up more than 18 inches table space- no height limit, as long as it can be transported via vehicle.

  5. House must be donated to the Rotary Club of Brandon South Global

  6. House will be auctioned off through a silent auction at the Alafia Lighted Boat Parade on December 7, 2019. Proceeds to benefit the Rotary Club of Brandon South Global’s service projects which include, but not limited to our Student Leadership program in Lakeland and Rotary’s International fight to end Polio in the world.

  7. House must be delivered to the Civic center in Riverview December 7th by 4PM

  8. The Awards for the bakers and the winners of the Silent Auction will receive their Gingerbread House about 7:00PM at the Riverview Civic Center. The Silent Auction winners must take their house with them at that time.
